Dry needling in Monaghan
Used for muscle tightness and trigger points as part of a wider treatment plan.

About dry needling
Dry needling uses fine, sterile needles placed into tight muscles and trigger points to help relieve pain and restore movement.
Fiona Callan, PhD, is a chartered physiotherapist with training in dry needling. It's one part of your treatment, used alongside exercise and hands-on care, never as a stand-alone fix.

Is dry needling the same as acupuncture?
Both use fine needles, but dry needling targets tight muscles and trigger points based on a physiotherapy assessment rather than traditional acupuncture points.
Does dry needling hurt?
You may feel a brief twitch or ache in the muscle as the needle goes in. Some people feel slightly sore afterwards, which usually passes quickly.
Is dry needling suitable for everyone?
Not everyone. Your assessment checks it's suitable for you, and we'll use other treatments if you'd rather not have needles.
